Piracy Dino-Tracker
November 19, 2008
We here at Dino have seen the disturbing upward trend in piracy this fall. We are also aware of our constituency’s deep concern about this issue. You may be asking yourself, where is that 20-ton shipment of short-shorts I ordered? How come my Saudi crude oil hasn’t arrived yet? And our Dino-Staff is committed to bringing you answers to these questions.
That is why we are introducing the Piracy Dino-Tracker, so you can get all of your maritime hijacking related news in one condensed post. Check out this week’s entries:
THAT’S ODD…
May 3, 2008
By now we’ve all heard the narrative of the Great Middle Class Squeeze. Gasoline and other living costs are soaring while wages stagnate. Anxiety and doubt are becoming widespread. Working families find themselves pinching pennies and making sacrifices just to keep their heads above water. The great question on the minds of so many is “what is America to do about this?”
Oh wait, did I say America? I meant Europe.
And here I was thinking that the Middle Class Squeeze was solely a problem for America that was reaping what it had sown with its dreaded Anglo-Saxon capitalism run amok. Surely the enlightened Europeans with their interventionist social-democratic governments, worker protections, and fair trade policies (as advocated by America’s Democrat candidates, I might note) would spare them from the fates of the foolish Americans!
Or not. Whammy!
Food for thought next time a candidate comes to town and advocates waving his magical wand of government policy to turn back the tide of worldwide macroeconomic trends.
